What is PEX Plumbing?

Installation
Unlike standard copper and plumbing PVC pipes, PEX does not require soldering or chemical welding for connections. PEX pipe lengths connect with mechanically tight fittings. PEX installation requires less specialized tools and skills than installing PVC or copper piping.
Applications
Builders use PEX for both hot and cold water supply lines, including appliance connections. Special residential applications of PEX include supply and return piping for hot water solar panels and lines for underfloor heating systems from the source. For commercial applications, PEX carries liquids and high pressure gases.
